How to become a Resident Champion
Are you passionate about maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept neighbourhood? Here’s how you can make a difference in your community by becoming a Resident Champion!
Resident Champions are an additional set of eyes and ears that will enable us to manage our neighbourhoods more effectively, whilst increasing engagement within our neighbourhoods.
Being a Resident Champion can really make a difference in creating a safer and more connected community. By leveraging your local knowledge, you can help identify issues early, provide valuable feedback and nurture a sense of belonging among your neighbours. You can attend joint inspections of where you live with your NC.
You can choose the levels of involvement that best suit you and you’re free to adjust these at any time if your situation changes, so don’t worry about what you commit to.
It’s simple, really – all you have to do is submit your interest either via the MyPA app or by filling out the form on the bottom of our Your Voice webpage and selecting option 8.
Your NC will get in touch to discuss becoming a Resident Champion – if your neighbourhood is currently vacant, another member of the Neighbourhoods team will contact you.
After choosing your level of involvement, you are officially a Resident Champion! You should expect to be in contact with your NC at least once a month, but they’ll discuss how often this will be and any other questions you may have in their first meeting with you.
So, join us in making a real difference by becoming a Resident Champion today!
We understand that things change, so please tell your NC if you ever need to step down from your role. We will automatically deregister you if you have not engaged in your role for 6 months or more.
Becoming a Resident Champion is just one of many ways you can give back to your neighbourhood as a PA resident. So take a look at the Your Voice page to learn more about the opportunities available to you.

Your Neighbourhood
Boasting a vibrant and diverse population, Beaumont Leys is a suburb in northwest Leicester that sits west of Abbey, northwest of Fosse, north of New Parks, south of Anstey and east of Glenfield. The name "Beaumont" means "beautiful hill/mountain", and for a long time the area was mainly farmland until the council invested in and developed the area in 1970 - expansion that continues into the surrounding countryside to this day.
Beaumont Leys has a wide array of open spaces on its doorstep such as Beaumont Park and Castle Hill Country Park as well as Beaumont Lodge Farm, a testament to 17th century architecture and now home to a thriving community centre in its former barn and outbuildings. The area is home to excellent amenities including several schools, churches, a leisure centre, library, police station and Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre. It is also very well-connected as it is bypassed by the A46, and bus links connect it with the city centre and beyond at frequent intervals.
Beaumont Shopping Centre hosts frequent events and discounts as well as community classes, camps and workshops being held around the area to foster a sense of community. The shopping district makes it a great area for employment and a handful of large companies have also chosen to make Beaumont Leys home to their headquarters, supporting the local economy and providing jobs to those living nearby.
