The Neighbourhood Improvement Fund strikes again, this time improving parking issues for residents on Manordene Road in Thames Ditton, Surrey.
If you’ve ever walked past the grass area on Manordene Road and thought “That’s definitely not a parking space”, you weren’t the only one. After hearing your concerns about cars parking on the grass and causing damage, we took action. Thanks to the Neighbourhood Improvement Fund request submitted by Nikki, your Neighbourhood Coordinator, we've installed bollards to prevent this issue. The new bollards will help keep the grass areas clear and ensure the road is safer for everyone. It's great to see the community coming together to make such positive changes!
Just look at the before and after pictures to see how Nikki’s idea made a real difference to your neighbourhood:
When asked how and why this came about, she said:
"I raised a request for bollards to be installed on Manordene Road following repeated complaints about a resident parking on the grass. This parking behaviour was causing significant damage to the grass area and creating an obstruction and safety risk for other residents.
“To address these issues, I requested the installation of bollards, which I believe will effectively prevent vehicles from parking on the grass. I am pleased to report that the bollards have now been installed.”
