Rushcliffe Summer Events Roundup (July - August 2025)

Looking for something to do in Rushcliffe this summer? Here’s a roundup of events from July to the end of August that you can get involved with over the summer holiday. 

No matter your age, background or interests, we’re sure you’ll find something you can get stuck in with this summer! 


Bingham Market 
July 17 and every Thursday from 7am to 2pm 
Location: Buttercross Market Square, Market Place, Bingham, Nottinghamshire, NG13 8AP 
Cost: Free! 

A traditional market held every Thursday at the historic Buttercross Market Square. Organised and managed by Rural Retailer Ltd on behalf of the Council, the stalls offer a wide variety of fresh produce, such as fruit, vegetables, fish and meat, as well as household goods, plants, clothing and many other bargains. Stalls are set up between 7.00am to 9.00am and the market closes at 2.00pm depending on the weather conditions.

Bingham Farmers and Makers Market 
July 19 and every third Saturday of the month from 8am to 2pm 
Location: Buttercross Market Square, Market Place, Bingham, Nottinghamshire, NG13 8AP 
Cost: Free! 

The Farmers and Makers Market in Bingham takes place on the third Saturday of the month in the market square. Goods on offer include fresh local vegetables, honey, cheese, bread, meat, home-made cakes, specialist teas, coffee, soaps and fresh fish.

West Bridgford Farmers Market 
July 26 and every second and fourth Saturday of each month from 8am 
Location: On the Croquet Lawn, Central Avenue, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 6AT 
Cost: Free! 

On the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 8.00am, a farmers' market is held in central West Bridgford - usually on the Croquet Lawn along Central Avenue. Products on sale include fresh honey, home-made cakes, and organic meats and vegetables.

Ruddington Village Market 
August 2 and every first Saturday of the month from 9am to 2pm 
Location: Ruddington Village Green, Ruddington, Nottingham, NG11 6HH 
Cost: Free! 

Ruddington Village Market takes place on the first Saturday of the month, from 9.00am to 2.00pm, February to December, on the village green in Ruddington. 

Organised and managed by the Ruddington Village Community Partnership , the market hosts over 70 artisan traders from across the region, with a range of fresh produce, provisions and crafts, including breads, fish, meats, cheeses, jams, spices, beers, wines and spirits, flowers, savoury and pastry treats, street foods, cakes, confectionery and more. 

The monthly market also features live music, children's entertainment and a market bar. 

 

Lark in the Park 
August 6 from 10am to 4pm 
Location: Bridgford Park, Bridgford Rd, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 
Cost: Free! 

Our ever-popular free Lark in the Park is back this summer on Wednesday August 6 featuring over 40 fantastic stalls and attractions at Bridgford Park in West Bridgford from 10am to 4pm. 

Established in 1988, Lark in the Park is one of Nottinghamshire's biggest free event for children and families. 

For over 30 years Lark in the Park has been delighting Nottinghamshire families, providing a free fun-filled day out featuring a whole host of child-friendly attractions such as arts and craft workshops, sports activities, shows and classes, rides and amusements in Bridgford Park, West Bridgford.  

The event takes place annually on the first Wednesday in August and celebrates Play Day, a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children and young people's lives.  

 

Sutton Bonnington Farmers Market 
August 6 and every first Wednesday of the month from 11am to 3pm 
Location: Sutton Bonington Campus, College Road, LE12 5RD 
Cost: Free! 

The Sutton Bonington Market is an award-winning market, having won the award for Market of the Year at the BBC Food and Farming Awards 2012. It was set up to support local producers and farmers, to promote integration between the local community and campus students and staff and to provide fresh, local and tasty food for everyone. 

The farmers market takes place on the first Wednesday of the month during term time at Sutton Bonington Campus, College Road LE12 5RD. 

 

Walking and Cycling Event 
August 13 from 10am to 2pm 
Location: Rushcliffe Country Park - near the play area, Mere Way, Nottingham NG11 6JS 
Cost: Free! 

Take part in a free Walking and Cycling Event and enjoy a range of outdoor activities for the whole family. Join us for a range of free outdoor activities including: 

  • Adapted Bikes 

  • Bike Marking and Registering 

  • Smoothie Bike 

  • Jukebox Bike 

  • Cycle Challenge 

  • Bike Maintenance with Dr Bike 

  • Nature Trails 

  • Orienteering 

  • Wellbeing Walk 

The event will feature a range of fun and insightful activities from 10am to 2pm and will include a wellbeing walk led by Rushcliffe Move and Mingle at 10.30am. 

Between 11am and 1pm there is also an opportunity for you to grab your map and get involved in orienteering with Nottinghamshire Orienteering Club. 

It will offer residents the chance to take advantage of maintenance and minor repairs from Dr Bike as well as having a go on smoothie and jukebox bikes! 

The Council’s Community Safety Team will also provide a bike marking and registering session and RideWise will have a range of their adapted bikes for people to try out. 

No booking is required for any of the activities, and it is all part of Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Walking and Cycling Action Plan which encourages residents to get more active and safely enjoy a healthy lifestyle. 

The event also links with a Population Health Management campaign focussing on Physical Activity which is aimed at promoting local services available to anyone and getting people to be more active.
