Looking for something to do in Nuneaton & Bedworth this summer? Here’s a roundup of events from July to the end of August that you can get involved with over the summer holiday.

Free Summer Holiday Activities at the Museum 
July 31 – August 29 from 11am to 3pm 
Location: Museum and Art Gallery, Riversley Park, Coton Road, Nuneaton, CV11 5TU 
Cost: Free! (Donations are welcomed to support the museum’s work) 

A different activity each Thursday and Friday. Activities run from 11.00am to 3.00pm. No need to book, just drop in. 

Festival of Archaeology 

  • Thursday 31 July – Make your own Roman sword 

  • Friday 1 August – Make your own Roman style laurel wreath

Summer Fun Fashion Show 
July 30 from 11.30am  
Location: Nuneaton Town Centre (by Starbucks), Market Place, Nuneaton, CV11 4EG 
Cost: Free! 

Our trader, Nick the Fish's Kristine is bringing some extra positivity and fun to the Sunny Nunny Street Market on Wed 30 July with a Fun Fashion Show for all the family. 

We are hoping traders, businesses and shoppers and even pets will take part, strutting their stuff, showing of their goods and style - with big smiles all around. 

The fun will take place in the Market Place. 

Just turn up from 11:30am, give us some details and it will be your time to shine. "Sashay Away!" from noon. 

GBS Entertainment will provide the catwalk tunes. Spread the word and take part! 

 

Nuneaton Indie Market 
August 3 and first Sunday of every month from 10am to 4pm 
Location: Nuneaton Town Centre, Market Place, Nuneaton, CV11 4EG 
Cost: Free! 

Supporting Nuneaton's truly local independent small and micro businesses and helping new start-ups get going. 

Stalls consisting of: 

  • Independent local businesses 

  • Crafters, hobbyists and makers 

  • Bakers and food stalls 

  • Children's entertainment 

  • Arts and crafts 

  • Charities 

 

Youth Club at Wembrook Community Centre 
Every Monday from 5pm to 7pm 
Location: Wembrook Community Centre, Donnithorne Avenue, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV11 4QP 
Cost: Free! 

Positive Impact are delivering our Youth Sessions at Wembrook Community Centre on Monday and Friday evenings. 

With sports, games, table tennis, and pool, crafts, quizzes, rewards and trips as well as educational workshops and activities. DBS, first aid and SEND trained staff. 

Ages 11-18, free to attend – just turn up, details taken on first visit.  

 

Quirky Kids Disability and Support Group 
Tuesdays from 5.15pm to 6.15pm, alternate Saturdays from 6pm to 7.30pm and Thursdays in school holidays from 10am to 11.30am 
Location: Wembrook Community Centre, Donnithorne Avenue, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV11 4QP 
Cost: £2.50 pp Tuesdays / £1 pp Saturdays and Thursdays 

This group is run by parents and families and offers support and friendship as well as activities for the children. 

Tuesdays from 5.15pm to 6.15pm: Quirky Feet – Zumba and Music Games 

Alternate Saturdays from 6pm until 7.30pm: Disco Dance 

Thursdays of school holidays from 10am to 11.30am: Holiday Club 

We also have a bouncy castle and soft play at Unit 7, Kingfisher Court, Hemdale Business Park, Nuneaton, CV11 6GY from 2pm til 4pm on the first Sunday of every month.

Oakwood Community Internet Café  
Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 12pm

Cost: Donation based, pay what you can afford 

Twice a week, we work in partnership with Oakwood School, their students get work experience offering a community Internet Café. Computer access for emails and access to free online courses with support. 

Serving hot and cold food and drinks – Wednesday and Friday mornings, this is the place to be! 

 

Citizens Advice drop-ins 
Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 12.30pm

Drop-in sessions, no appointment needed! 

Working in partnership with HTC Local, Warwickshire CAVA and the National Lottery Community Fund. 

 

Attleborough Wildlife Watchers Litter Picking 
First and third Friday of every month from 10am to 11am 
Location: Wembrook Community Centre, Donnithorne Avenue, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV11 4QP

Help the environment and wildlife in Wembrook! 

We’ve partnered with Wembrook Community Centre and Warwickshire Wildlife Trust to hold litter picking sessions twice every month.

Ant’s Art Classes  
Various dates and times through July and August 
Location: Chilvers Coton Craft Centre And Cafe, Avenue Road, Nuneaton, CV11 4JS  

Ant’s art classes are sessions designed for people of all ages who are complete beginners or improvers, to encourage person centred learning and start a creative journey within a friendly group environment where we can learn and share off each other without judgement or intimidation. 

I cover a range of themes alongside individual developments. I see myself as a guide rather than a teacher and with my experiences help you to find your own. 

I also facilitate life drawing sessions currently at Wembrook Community Centre in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. These are open to all adults of all abilities, and I am there on hand to guide if requested and host the evening. 

All the sessions are pay as you go, and you can book as and when it fits within your daily life.

The Community Pantry

When someone finds themselves in a place where they are struggling to make ends meet, a Community Pantry can help. 

Community Pantries have been set up to help to address the issue of food poverty in Leicestershire and Warwickshire, and in particular affordability and access. 

They are not just about providing help at the point of crisis but instead offer a more sustainable solution. 

 

Wembrook Friendship Club 
Every Thursday from 12.30pm to 3pm

Our NEW Thursday afternoon Friendship and BINGO club. Everyone welcome. 

Don't sit at home, everyone is welcome, prize bingo is on offer! However, if you would rather just make friends and chat in a warm, friendly space, that is also possible.   

 

Family Events Day – Postcards in the Park 
August 9 from 11am to 4pm

Cost: Free! (Donations are welcomed to support the museum’s work) 

To compliment the Park Read Event organised by the Library. 

There will be lots to do at the Museum today including a trail of postcards throughout the park and the Museum and a Make Your Own Postcard activity, our second-hand book stall and storytelling sessions.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  No booking required, just pop along.  

 

Tootles Tinies – calling all pre-schoolers 
August 14 from 11am to 12pm 
Location: Museum and Art Gallery, Riversley Park, Coton Road, Nuneaton, CV11 5TU 
Cost: Free! (Donations are welcomed to support the museum’s work) 

Listen to a story, enjoy a messy make, sing a song or explore the Museum.  Be prepared to join in, make some noise and have fun!  No need to book, just drop in.

Hands on History Session – Us and Them 
August 30 from 11am to 3.15pm 
Location: Museum and Art Gallery, Riversley Park, Coton Road, Nuneaton, CV11 5TU 
Cost: Free! (Donations are welcomed to support the museum’s work) 

No booking required, just turn up and take part. Join us to explore the relationships between humans and animals through Museum objects.  

Get up close and personal with a selection chosen by our Museum Access Assistants. 

This event is free, but donations are welcomed.
