Harborough Summer Events Roundup (July - August 2025)

Looking for something to do in Harborough this summer? Here’s a roundup of events from July to the end of August that you can get involved with over the summer holiday. 

No matter your age, background or interests, we’re sure you’ll find something you can get stuck in with this summer! 


Wonders of Nature  
June 14 – October 11

Reflecting the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge theme “Story Garden”, discover our wonderful and amazing objects from the museum collections which will inspire stories and creativity. 

From July to August 2025 we are excited to have the wonderful Jessica Hartshorn join us as our artist in residence. Jessi will be running weekly workshops for children, with all sessions being FREE! Each week explore a new creative skill and help us create an amazing community art display that will blossom and grow over the summer holidays. Together let’s create, inspire and have fun!

This summer, we're mixing creativity with engineering for some seriously fun STEM learning. Try your hand at our four rotating challenges — each one comes with a hands-on make-and-do activity, and you'll take your creation home!

Pick up a free art pack from the museum and get crafty as you explore the Foxton site. Perfect for young artists! 

🦉 Take the Grimwood Museum Adventure! 

We're one of the museums taking part in the Grimwood Museum Adventure – celebrating Nadia Shireen's new book, Party Animals. 

Follow the bonkers trail, spot animals, solve puzzles, and build a barmy bird's nest from objects around the museum! Complete the trail and get a free Grimwood sticker!

August 7 and every first Thursday of the month from 8am to 2.30pm

Harborough Fayres CIC Presents the VJ Day 80th anniversary fayre. 

Highlights include:

E-Bike Training 
August 21 from 5pm to 7pm 
Location: Welland Park, Welland Park Road, Market Harborough, LE16 9DN 
Cost: Free! 

The course is designed around you and your individual requirements and experience - your instructors will spend some time establishing this and ensuring what we do is relevant and useful to you. This may mean the instructors split the larger group into a number of smaller ones. 

As a rough guide the course will follow the following format: 

  • Introductions, meet the team, course housekeeping, pre course admin 

  • General rider research - what do you want to achieve? 

  • Introduction to electric bikes 

  • Bike fitting, helmets, clothing 

  • General e-bike riding - off road and traffic free 

  • General e-bike skills and competencies - off road and traffic free 

  • Team engagement -personalised travel advice from our experienced team-learn about local cycle routes, commuter tips, maintenance hints ,general riding advice etc 

  • Road riding (if required) the team will take you out on quiet roads close to the training venue, to build confidence and road skills in a controlled environment. If you wish to remain off road and continue practicing that's fine too. 

 

Market Harborough Artisan Fair on The Square 
August 30 and every last Saturday of the month from 9am to 4pm 
Location: The Square, Market Harborough, LE16 7PA 
Cost: Free! 

Visit the Artisan Fair on The Square, showcasing wonderful crafters, artists and foodies from the local area. 

 

Market Harborough Summer Fayre 
31 August from 2pm to 4pm

JJ Maher Events Presents the Market Harborough Summer Fayre – an affordable family fun day! 

Highlights include:
