Summer Jobs Fair

Cost: Free!
Join Gedling Borough Council and our partners, the Department for Work and Pensions, for the Summer Jobs Fair.
This is a great opportunity to speak to a wide range of local and national employers and providers who offer a variety of vacancies, apprenticeships, courses and opportunities, including giving employability advice on the day.
There is no booking required, just drop in on the day.

Gedling Summer Skate 2025
June 21 to August 17
Location: Arnot Hill park, Newstead skatepark, Standhill skatepark, Jubilee Park skatepark
Cost: Free!
The Gedling Summer Skate is back for 2025!
Get involved in a variety of different FREE events at skateparks around the borough of Gedling, hosted by Skate Nottingham and funded by Gedling Borough Council. For ages 7+.

11am-12.30pm: Free skateboard coaching
12.30-4.30pm: Skate and Regenerate ramp building & skatepark repair

Quentin Blake’s Mrs Armitage on Wheels
August 24 from 11am and from 2pm
Location: Bonington Theatre, High Street, Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 7EE
Cost: £13 pp
Quentin Blake’s Mrs Armitage on Wheels is an interactive, energetic show, celebrating the joy of getting outdoors and being active.
Aimed at children aged 3+, the show features live music, puppetry and physical comedy and is presented by the fabulous Scoot Theatre.
There are two showings on Sunday 24 August: 11am and 2pm.

Gedling Indoor Bowls Club Summer Sundays
May 4 to August 31 from 8.30am to 9pm
Location: Gedling Indoor Bowls Club, Richard Herrod Centre, Foxhill Road, Carlton, Nottingham, NG4 1RL
Cost: £2.50 for 2 hours (members) / £3.50 for 2 hours (non-members and first-timers)
Enjoy summer bowling for less on Sundays throughout May, June, July, and August with Gedling Indoor Bowls Club.
Come along and give bowling a go on the indoor green at The Richard Herrod Centre in Carlton. The prices have been cut for the Summer Sunday Sessions.
Summer Sundays are available from 8.30am until 9pm every Sunday from the start of May until the end of August.

Tina Turner Ultimate Tribute

Sass Brown & The River Deep Band (headline)
Sass Brown has been performing her tribute to Tina Turner all over the UK and into Europe for the past 12 years. A seasoned performer who can get any party going with her tribute to a stage, film and musical icon. Not to be missed!
The Zenyth Collective (support) from 6.30pm
The Zenyth Collective formed in 2021 by Tony ‘Bass Fingers’ are a talented group of Nottingham musicians covering feel good classic rock and indie songs.
Mark Ritchie – he just can’t help himself
July 23 from 7.30pm

Mark Ritchie has toured the world and is a regular at the Edinburgh fringe.
He returns to Bonington Theatre with a hilarious new storytelling show, that he will be taking to Edinburgh later this summer… Mark Ritchie, he just can’t help himself!
The Alliance

Cost: Free!
Come along for a fun evening of live entertainment with multi-instrumental trio, The Alliance, performing at Richard Herrod Centre!
Free entry (no ticket required).
Main bar - over 18s only.
Live on stage from 9pm, the bar will be open until 11pm.
There will be a 30 minute interval.
Bootleg Shadows
July 27 from 7.30pm
Location: Bonington Theatre, High Street, Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 7EE

The Bootleg Shadows perform a unique concert that encompasses the Shadows amazing career from 1960 up until the early 80s. You are invited to relive fantastic hits such as Apache, Foot Tapper, Riders in The Sky, Atlantis, Wonderful Land, Kon Tiki, Cavatina, FBI plus some hit songs of “Cliff” and a few wild cards for good measure!
For anyone who loves the sounds of the 60s and enjoys a few laughs on the way, The Bootleg Shadows perform a unique tribute that has audiences humming the tunes and doing the Shadows famous walk long after they have left the Theatre.
American Highway Classic Rock Show

Come along to The Bonington Theatre to enjoy the sounds of some great US artists, including bands like The Eagles, The Byrds, The Steve Miller Band, and artists like Boz Scaggs, Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley Tom Petty, Neil Young and many more.
With the AMERICAN HIGHWAY Tribute Show, you can experience all of this amazing live music, packed into one evening.

Saturday 2 August: Dorothy Ella and Elijah
Dorothy Ella's bright, upbeat fusion of funk, soul and indie pop is rapidly grabbing attention around the UK as she continues on her mission “to spread musical sunshine”.
Trent’s Got Talent winner Elijah is a rising star on the Nottingham scene, showing every sign of breaking out and becoming a major player in the city and beyond. The promising young singer-songwriter exudes passion with every captivating performance.

Saturday 23 August: Tash Bird and James Gooch
Innovative singer-songwriter Tash Bird implements live looping techniques to create her astounding idiosyncratic sound. Soulful and stirring, Tash’s euphoric music offers a candid account of her struggles and triumphs. Her self-released debut EP 'Normal Is Boring' smashed into the Top 20 on the iTunes UK singer-songwriter charts.
James Gooch first grabbed attention as the front of the rowdy Nottingham indie rock band Reflekter. As a solo artist, James takes an introspective approach on his personal projects and explores his inner relationship with the wider world.

Echo Beach

Echo Beach return to the Richard Herrod Centre this summer for another brilliant evening of live entertainment. They will be performing classic 80s hits from artists such as Soft Cell, Human League, Eurythmics, Duran Duran and many more!
