Celebrating Navratri at Wolsey Building and Abbey Mill

Over the past couple of weeks, our residents at the Wolsey Building and Abbey Mill came together to celebrate Navratri – a vibrant and joyous festival that was marked over 10 wonderful nights this year.

Navratri, which means ‘nine nights,’ is a Hindu festival dedicated to the worship of the goddess Durga and her nine divine forms. It is traditionally observed with music, dance, prayers, and community gatherings.

More than just a religious festival, Navratri is a time for people to come together, strengthen bonds, and celebrate unity.

Our residents certainly embodied that spirit. From carefully planning the events to spreading the word by knocking on each other’s doors and sending out friendly reminders, the celebrations were full of warmth, energy, and community spirit.

Each evening brought people together for shared joy, laughter, and cultural appreciation.

This year’s celebrations were particularly memorable, showing just how much thought and effort went into making sure everyone felt included. The sense of togetherness was truly inspiring.

Please enjoy the photos below as they capture the colour, joy, and festive atmosphere perfectly.
