Building connections through community clean-up

During a recent visit to our schemes at Althea Court and Poyser Close in Nottingham, I had the pleasure of meeting the local councillor, who was out cleaning the streets alongside a group of dedicated volunteers.

Having previously communicated only via email, this was a wonderful opportunity to introduce myself in person and strengthen our relationship.

As we spoke, the councillor kindly offered me a spare grabber and some bags to join in the clean-up. I happily accepted the invitation and spent time helping to tidy the streets around our schemes. It turned out to be a fantastic and fun way to connect with the local community.

This spontaneous collaboration not only allowed me to engage with the councillor but also opened up doors for future partnerships. She has since invited me to attend upcoming community events and is already assisting with a couple of queries from our residents that require her support.

It's great to see how these community efforts can foster stronger connections and bring about positive change for our residents!
