Richmond upon Thames is an affluent borough in southwest London, located 9 miles from central London on the River Thames. The town is famous for its royal heritage, which dates to the 15th century, when Henry VIII built Richmond Palace, although the palace was dismantled, its legacy remains in the areas name.  

Richmond is well-known for its green spaces, such as Kew Gardens, which has the greatest plant collection in the world and Richmond Park, London's largest Royal Park. Famous landmarks that highlight its cultural attractions and history include the Richmond Theatre and Ham House. Well-known for its outstanding schools offering beneficial educational opportunities, and Richmond High Street, which is perfect for its residents since it has many independent boutiques, riverside cafes, and retail shops. Local events are held to encourage a sense of community include the Twickenham Carnival, Richmond's Farmers Market, and the Richmond May Fair.
