Brent is a borough of London that sits in the northwest of the city. The borough was created in 1965 when the former boroughs of Wembley and Willesden were combined and transferred from Middlesex to Greater London. It has many architectural landmarks that showcase its vibrant history and culture such as Wembley Stadium, the Swaminarayan Temple and the Kiln Theatre as well as natural spaces like the Welsh Harp reservoir, Wormwood Scrubs and Fryent Country Park for those who enjoy being closer to nature.
The borough is home to a variety of amenities including several state and independent schools, nurseries and colleges, fire stations, medical services, multifaith places of worship, supermarkets and an IKEA. It is a well-connected area, with access to three railway stations alongside extensive Underground service and bus routes and the A406 running through the borough.
Brent Council hosts a wide array of events covering all areas such as culture and arts, disabilities, parenting and technology among others to bring the community together. It has a mixture of inner-city and suburban character across residential, industrial and commercial land and there are large companies that choose to make Brent home to their head offices, offering local employment and boosting the growth of its economy.
