Your Neighbourhood
Esher is an affluent town in Surrey, approximately 15 miles southwest of Central London, surrounded by Cobham, Claygate, and Weybridge. Significant landmarks associated with the area are Sandown Park Racecourse and Claremont House. Esher's history extends back to Saxon times when the area was recognised as a rural community based on farming during the mediaeval period. It is one of Surrey's most desirable locations, with a mix of Georgian, Victorian, and modern homes.
The town boasts stunning natural features, including Claremont Gardens and Esher Common, ideal for outdoor activities. Esher offers top-rated schools such as Esher High and Claremont Fan Court and is close to Kingston and St Peters Hospital. Residents can enjoy a variety of independent boutiques, cafés, and well-known shops on Esher High Street. Elmbridge Borough Council is also situated along the high street, contributing to the neighbourhood's sense of security. Claremont Gardens hosts family activities and guided walks, while Sandown Park hosts horse racing events and music performances for the community.
The neighbourhood is well connected to the A3 and has excellent regular train services to London Waterloo within 25 minutes. The community is primarily residential. However, local shops, Pains Hill Vineyard, and Sandown Park offer local employment. Future developments will focus on modern, energy-efficient homes while retaining the area's character and enhancing local road infrastructures to improve Esher's connectivity.
