Oxshott is a charming village in Surrey, situated 20 miles southwest of Central London. The village has a history dating back to the 12th century and remained a rural area until the 19th century, when it became more of a residential area. Oxshott is known for attracting many affluent and famous residents with its luxurious mansions, as well as charming Victorian cottages and modern homes.
The village is surrounded by natural landscapes, including Oxshott Heath, local woodlands, and the River Mole, which add to the overall beauty of the area. Oxshott boasts excellent schools, including Danes Hill School and Royal Kent School, as well as healthcare services. There is also a small high street with boutiques, cafes, and essential businesses, while nearby Esher and Cobham offer more options. Walking groups, board game nights, seasonal fairs, and Oxshott Village Sports club events are some of the activities that help to strengthen the sense of community in the area.
Oxshott station provides excellent transit links to London Waterloo, Guildford and major roads leading to the A3. Although future developments are limited due to the greenbelt land around the neighbourhood, some new housing projects will continue to improve the areas desirability.
