Your Neighbourhood
Long Ditton is a peaceful community in Surrey, 12 miles southwest of central London and close to Kingston and Surbiton. Long Ditton originated as a rural farming region before becoming a residential village in the 19th and 20th centuries. The village contains a combination of Victorian cottages, Edwardian houses, new developments, and ancient structures such as St Mary's Church, built in the 12th century, and Ditton Hill House.
Green places such as Ditton Hill, Stoke Recreation Ground, and riverside paths along the Thames provide ample opportunities for outdoor activities. The neighbourhood has excellent educational and healthcare services, as well as a small number of local stores, cafes, and pubs, with nearby Kingston and Surbiton offering larger retail and dining options. Local community events such as toddler groups, cricket clubs, and yoga sessions all help to enrich the sense of community.
The community is conveniently positioned between the A3 and Surbiton Station, which provides quick train connections to London and excellent bus services to Kingston and Esher. The area contributes to the local economy by hosting many independent businesses. Future endeavours will include sustainability projects that improve bicycle and pedestrian routes in the area, to promote environmentally friendly transportation.
