Walton-On-Thames is a town in Surrey, positioned on the River Thames, about 15 miles from Central London. Its history stretches back to Saxon times and was recorded in the Domesday book. It also became associated with significant historical events such as the construction of Walton Bridge in 1750, which aided trade and growth in the 18th century. The town's architecture combines older Victorian and Edwardian residences with modern developments, particularly in new residential neighbourhoods. Significant structures include St Mary's Church and the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse.
Nature lovers can also enjoy various green spaces, such as Walton Marina and Ashley Park. Walton is well connected to Central London via Southwestern train services, and there are excellent bus connections, connecting Walton to nearby towns Esher, Weybridge, and Kingston.
There are numerous excellent educational and health-care options, including GP practices and dental clinics. Residents enjoy the Heart shopping centre, which features a range of shops, restaurants, and a gym, the Highstreet also boast several great local pubs, such as The Walton Village, contributing to the town's sense of community. Other local community events such as farmers markets, baby brunch clubs, and a repair café club are also hosted to bring residents together.
