Who are the Resident Assembly?

The Resident Assembly is a group of residents who work with us to help improve our housing services. It’s resident-led, meaning your voice is at the heart of shaping decisions that affect your home and community.

Members work alongside colleagues at PA Housing to share feedback on what’s working well and where things could be better. The Assembly also acts as a critical friend, asking the right questions, offering ideas, and helping keep us accountable.

Your voice really does matter. If you’ve ever thought, “This could be done better,” the Resident Assembly is your opportunity to speak up and help make a difference.

Why join?

The Resident Assembly isn’t just about sitting in meetings. It’s about influence, impact, and making your voice count. As a member of the Resident Assembly, you will:

  • Shape decisions: Give strategic feedback, challenge us when we need it, and make sure residents’ perspectives drive change.
  • Build skills: Learn how housing works from the inside out, strengthen your confidence in debate, and pick up leadership and decision-making skills you can use anywhere.
  • Use your time well: Around 10 meetings a year (mix of in-person and online), with focused discussions that lead to real tracked outcomes.
  • Get support & training: We’ll provide support and training, to make sure you feel confident to take part and challenge us.

You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be curious, enthusiastic, willing to work with us and ready to speak up for what matters to residents.

Who are we looking for?

Our Resident Assembly is open to any of our residents who wants to help shape the future of PA Housing. Whether you’ve lived here all your life or recently moved in, your perspective is valuable.

We’re especially keen to hear from people who may not always see themselves represented in these conversations – whether that’s younger residents, people balancing busy work or family life, and those from a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Your lived experience brings fresh ideas and helps us better understand the needs of our whole community.
