Our independent living and specialist housing schemes were a sea of red, white, and blue last week as residents came together to celebrate the 80th anniversary of V.E Day.
Communal lounges were decorated with bunting to recreate a street party atmosphere, and residents and colleagues joined together to sing and dance, recite poems, share old photos, stories, take part in war time quizzes and even share facts about the contribution pigeons made to the war efforts, as we came together to remember.

The week evoked so many memories for some, whilst giving others the opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many who we will never forget. It was heartwarming to see residents coming together to join in this very special occasion. Thank you to everyone who helped make these events so special.
