I’m always keeping in close touch with our Neighbourhood Coordinators (NCs) in the Midlands to see and celebrate the wonderful projects they complete for you as PA residents, and this amazing work from Aisha is no exception!

When I was doing my routine check-ins with NCs to see what they’ve been up to with their Neighbourhood Improvement Funds (NIFs) in your neighbourhoods, Aisha made me aware of a project she’d completed over the last few months in Highfields.

Our success story takes place later in the year when the nights are starting to draw in and daylight gets more precious by the day. Some residents on St Peters Road had reported to Aisha that their communal lights would either only work for a few seconds and then turn off or wouldn’t turn on altogether. This can be an inconvenience at best and unsafe at worst, especially in these colder months where it gets darker earlier outside, so Aisha decided that this was another job for the NIF.

The new lights for these buildings were approved in late November and installed recently.  And that isn’t all of it – Aisha has plans to use her NIF to supply additional lighting to other areas on the street and in her Highfields neighbourhood too. Residents have told her already that they’re very satisfied with the lights and they make them feel much safer when entering and leaving their homes at night.

Take a look at some photos of the completed works!

Small improvements like these may not seem like much when you’re not thinking about them, but it’s amazing to see how much of a difference these can make in just making you feel safer in your homes. It’s all a big part of our Resident Strategy to ensure that the neighbourhoods our residents live in are vibrant, thriving, and most importantly, that you are proud to be there as residents of PA in particular.
