On Tuesday 12 August, colleagues from PA’s Neighbourhoods and Tenancy Sustainment Teams got together for a PA On Tour event at Carisbrook and Corfe Close in Hounslow.

This event formed part of a wider collaboration with the Mill Farm event, bringing together a diverse range of partners including Richmond Housing Partnership, Richmond Council (represented by the Deputy Leader), Community Ambassadors, the Cooking Project, MTVH (Housing Association), and RHP (Housing Association), who also have homes in the neighbourhood.

The day itself had a lively and welcoming atmosphere, with face painting for children and free ice cream, ensuring families felt included and engaged. More importantly, the goal for the event was to ensure that residents left with greater awareness of what’s happening in their area, how to access different services, and who to contact when they need support.

By having service providers, housing associations and community representatives all in one place, it was a great opportunity to engage directly with each other and residents. There’s a wide variety of aspects this helps with, such as:

  • Coordinating services more effectively so residents receive faster, more joined-up support
  • Identifying and addressing local challenges through shared knowledge and resources
  • Promoting awareness of opportunities and events that residents might otherwise miss
  • Building relationships based on trust and accessibility, making it easier for residents to approach agencies for help

One resident told us, “I think we should do this more often, as it gives me peace of mind that I know who to contact if any issue comes up.”

That’s the feedback we like to see! We want to make sure your voices are heard, and by creating these links and relationships between ourselves and service providers within the community, we’re laying even more foundation for this.

Our ultimate goal, as part of our Resident Strategy, is to enhance the quality of services available to you but also to empower you to use your voice and take an active role in shaping your neighbourhood into a safe, connected and vibrant place to live.

Events such as PA On Tour that were such a massive success like this are just one stepping stone towards making that goal happen!
