On bank holiday Monday, Canada Court came alive with the sounds of music, laughter, and community spirit as we hosted a carnival-themed engagement event.
With plenty of snacks, face painting for the little ones, and a great atmosphere, the day was all about bringing residents, partners, and colleagues together to celebrate our neighbourhood and plan for its future.
The event was attended by residents, members of the Residents’ Association, colleagues from PA Housing including Lizzie (Head of Neighbourhoods for London), Adewale (Neighbourhood Team Manager), and Justine (Tenancy Sustainment Manager), as well as local partners such as the Seeds for Growth Charity. Together, we spent the day listening to residents, answering questions, and most importantly acting on feedback.
Residents raised important issues, including the bin store, lift reliability, and community safety. By capturing these insights, we’re now able to prioritise clear actions and make sure residents see progress to ensure they feel their voices are being heard.
It was also fantastic to see the progress in the dedicated gardening space already agreed by the Residents’ Association. Charity Seeds for Growth also attended to support with ideas to grow this further, with new gardening and planting projects on the horizon.
Beyond the practical outcomes, what really stood out was the sense of community. The carnival theme created a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that encouraged more residents to get involved, share their views, and connect with us and each other.
This event reflects PA’s commitment to:
