Shortlist for Women of the Year

Suzannah Taylor

Suzannah is our Executive Director of Development.

She was shortlisted for her commitment to championing female leadership in a traditionally male-dominated field.

Suzannah is passionate about changing what it means to be a woman in leadership, especially in construction which is a traditionally male-dominated environment. As a leader, role model, and mentor for other women in the industry, she has successfully recruited more female senior leaders into her team.

Over the past 2 years, PA Housing has built more new homes than ever, letting 409 and selling 351 which are the greatest figures on record for the business. In 2026, we’re on course to exceed our target again by building over 500 new homes, providing much needed accommodation for those in need. This achievement reaffirms her unwavering commitment to a sector that she has dedicated the last 20 years to and the impact her work can have on others.

Sharan Athwal

Sharan Athwal is one of our Neighbourhood Coordinators.

She was shortlisted for her unwavering commitment to our residents, especially those who may be isolated due to language or cultural barriers.

With much of her time spent managing two south Asian specialist independent living schemes, Sharan understands the responsibility of providing a safe, inclusive, place for residents – knowing that, for many, this will be their last home. Her passion and commitment are evident with residents lovingly calling her ‘daughter’.

In this role, she works as an ambassador in her neighbourhood – a visible and active presence that residents can rely on to offer support, understanding, signposting advice, and to get things done. From reporting a communal repair to dealing with a neighbour dispute or bringing the community together with a social inclusion event for a cultural celebration, Sharan is a shining example of what an NC should be. Her enthusiasm and her very nature ensure that everybody who steps through the door feels included, whether that’s an elderly or vulnerable resident, a relative, or a member of our leadership team.

We wish them both the best of luck!

The awards will be presented on 24 June 2026 at a ceremony in central Manchester.

We've made the decision not to attend the award ceremony as we believe our residents' money should not be spent in this way.
