Great British Summer Savings scheme
The Great British Summer Savings scheme is helping families save money this summer. From 25 June to 1 September 2026, VAT has been reduced from 20% to 5% on children's meals, family entertainment tickets and many attractions, while children aged 5 to 15 can travel by bus for free throughout August. The scheme aims to make family days out and cultural experiences more affordable during the school holidays. An Attraction Finder tool, allowing families to search by postcode and find participating venues offering summer savings nearby.
As the school holidays get underway, and as many continue to struggle financially after the cost-of-living crisis, we thought we’d share some of the places where kids can eat for free (or cheaply) during the summer holidays.
As part of the deals, many say that you have to buy a full adult meal alongside the kids’ meal, which won’t always work out so cheap, but these discounts could still help you to save money if you know where to look.
Asda Café
Asda’s kids eat for £1 meal deal is available year-round. Kids can enjoy hot meals like fish fingers, all-day breakfast and chicken nuggets which would normally cost £3.20. A cold pick and mix selection is also available, which includes a sandwich, drink, and fruit. No adult purchase is required! For babies under 18 months, you can get one 70g free pouch of Ella’s Kitchen baby food as part of this deal.
Bill's
You can get up to two free kids' meals (normally £7.45 each) when purchasing an adult main meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). This deal is valid on weekdays only from Thursday 25 June and ends Tuesday 1 September. The free kids' meal comes with a main, side and dessert. The following items are some main meals available on the kids' menu: buttermilk pancakes, mac & cheese, and fish fingers & chips
Beefeater
Up to two children aged under 16 can eat a 'free' breakfast at any Beefeater restaurant (find your nearest) when accompanied by an adult buying an unlimited cooked breakfast, which costs £10.99.
This offer is valid during breakfast hours every day of the week and there is no code needed to claim this deal, it's automatically applied to the bill. Beefeater told us this is an ongoing deal with no specific end date.
Kids can choose from either a full cooked breakfast including bacon, sausages (meat or vegan options), eggs, hash browns, beans, cooked tomatoes, mushrooms and black pudding. Or they can opt for a continental selection including toast, yoghurt, porridge and pastries.
Bill’s
If you dine in at a Bill's restaurant (find your nearest) during summer, you can get up to two free kids' meals (normally £7.45 each) when purchasing an adult main meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). This deal is valid on weekdays only from Thursday 25 June and ends Tuesday 1 September.
As up to two kids aged 10 years old and under can get a free meal when an adult orders a full-price main, it could be a great option for single parents, or if you're out solo with two kids.
The free kids' meal comes with a main, side and dessert. The following items are some main meals available on the kids' menu: buttermilk pancakes, mac & cheese, and fish fingers & chips.
Dobbies (garden centres)
Kids can get a free breakfast or lunch at Dobbies with each adult main purchased. This offer is not available at the Beaconsfield, Hungerford, Keston, Andover, Lelant, Marple, Reading, York, and Anchorwood locations. A kids' Sunday roast costs £1. The lunch offer is available daily from 12.00 noon to 3.00pm, and breakfast until 11.30am.
Flaming Grill Pubs
Flaming Grill is offering Kids Eat for 88p this summer holidays.
Kids’ meals come with the choice of two side & dessert. For bigger appetites, guests can also upgrade to a larger kids’ meal for just £1. Offer valid throughout the Summer holidays
Harvester
Until September 1st 2026 Harvester is offering kids meals for £1 Monday-Fridays. With any adult main, kids can enjoy a main from the Smaller Bites, Bigger Appetites or Kids’ Breakfast menus for £1 - this includes unlimited salad, too.
Holiday Inn
At Holiday Inn, kids eat and stay for free for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel’s restaurant if an adult hotel guest orders at least one course from the full-priced menu. The offer is limited to four children per family.
Hungry Horse
Hungry Horse Kids eat for 88p on weekdays with a paying adult this Summer Holidays.
Choose any adult main (including lunch) and add up to 2 children’s small main meal deals at just 88p each. Kids’ meal deals include a main meal, pudding and a drink. Children can also upgrade to a larger meal deal for 50p extra.
Available Monday – Friday throught the 6 weeks holidays.
Ikea
Kids can enjoy pasta with tomato sauce or mac and cheese with a soft drink for 95p at Ikea. Other kids' meals are £1.50. This offer is available daily, starting from 11.00am.
Morrisons Café
If you're visiting a Morrisons Café (find your nearest*), you can get a free kids' meal (normally costing £4) when purchasing an adult main meal for £5 or more. The offer is valid every day, all times of the day until cafés close. Morrisons has confirmed this is an ongoing offer, but we'll update you here if that changes. This offer isn't valid on café specials.
The free kids' meal comes with a kids' drink. Kids can choose between a hot meal on the café kids menu or a pick 'n' mix style meal, including a sandwich, snack and drink. The hot meal includes one main, one side and a veg option.
Pizza Hut
Kids eat free at Pizza Hut all day, every day. Treat your little ones to a pizza feast with the Pizza Hut kids buffet when you spend £9.99 on other food.
You need to use code KEF (KEF2 to upgrade to bottomless drinks and dessert for £2)
Premier Inn
Two children under 16 eat breakfast completely free at Premier Inn restaurants when one adult purchases a full breakfast.
Available daily at all Premier Inn hotel restaurants. You do not need to be a hotel guest to use the restaurant. The adult unlimited breakfast includes cooked items, cereals, toast, pastries, juices and hot drinks.
Sainsbury’s
Kids eat for £1 in Sainsbury’s cafés when you purchase a hot adult’s meal. The offer is available year round from 11.30am.
Choose from hot meals such as fish fingers or pizza, or go for a lunch bag containing sandwiches, fruit, a drink and snacks.
Sizzling Pub and Grill
If you head to your local Sizzling Pub on a Monday after 12pm (find your nearest) and purchase a main meal (usually between £6-12), you can get a kids' meal for £1 when ordered at the same time. There’s no code or voucher needed, the discount will be applied automatically.
The kids' menu includes dishes such as fish fingers and pasta which would usually cost from £3.29.
This is valid at all Sizzling Pubs restaurants. All food must be purchased in the same transaction for this deal to apply. This offer won't work on the breakfast or any other set menu.
Sizzling Pubs confirmed there is no age limit to kids claiming the £1 meal, however some users have told us they tried to redeem it and were told it is only for children aged five and under, so it may be worth checking with your local branch before claiming this offer.
Table Table
Two kids under 16 can enjoy a free, unlimited breakfast at their all-you-can-eat buffet (which includes full English and continental options) when an adult buys a breakfast for £9.99.
Tesco Café
Tesco is bringing back its Kids Eat Free scheme to its 317 Cafés and Coffee Shops across the UK over the summer holidays (excluding weekends).
Kids eat free, worth £4, when you purchase anything of the Cafe menu e.g 65p fruit with clubcard
TGI Fridays
Kids Eat Free this summer holidays May when you have the Fridays Stripes Rewards App.
One free kids meal per full price adults main meal purchased until 6th September.
If you’re not a Rewards Member, book your table and then download the app before your visit.
Travelodge
At Travelodge, you can enjoy their all-you-can-eat Breakfast for just £9.75 and up to two kids under 15 eat for £1.
Whitbread Inns
Purchase one great value £9.50 breakfast at any Whitbread Inns pub or restaurant and two kids under 16 eat breakfast for free.
