Who are the Value For Money Working Group?

Our Value for Money (VFM) Resident Group helps ensure that residents' voices are at the heart of how we spend money and improve services. The group works alongside colleagues to provide recommendations that help us deliver the best possible outcomes for residents while making effective use of resources.

The group focuses on two key areas:

Procurement

Residents are involved in reviewing and influencing procurement activities, helping to ensure that contracts deliver quality services, value for money, and positive outcomes for our communities.

This includes:

  • Reviewing proposed service specifications.
  • Helping shape evaluation criteria.
  • Taking part in interviews and evaluation.
  • Providing resident insight on what matters most when selecting service providers.
  • Contract Monitoring, ensuring contracted services continue to meet residents' expectations.

Transformation

The group supports service transformation projects by providing feedback and challenge throughout the improvement process.

Residents help to:

  • Review current services and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Test new ideas and approaches and provide resident feedback.
  • Ensure resident needs remain central to service or system redesign.
  • Assess whether changes are delivering the intended benefits.
  • Recommend improvements to customer experience and service delivery.
