KT One Two football is located in a school right by St John's Estate, Walton. The sessions are run on artificial pitches outside.
The sessions run three times per week on a Monday (boys aged 6-9), Tuesday (boys aged 10-14) and Friday (girls of all ages, approximately 7-14) for one hour and are free for participants to attend.
Without funding, the project would either close or they'd have to charge the children a weekly fee which is likely to have a significant impact on the number of attendees to the sessions, with many unable to afford even a nominal fee.
I'm pleased to announce that, using the social value element of our contract with PiLON and Hill, we managed to get both contractors to donate £1,000 each which, in turn, has paid for 20 sessions so that these children can continue to attend the sessions for free. The project has been running for a around 8 years and, to keep it going, more funding is needed. So, hopefully, we can look to support them going forward in some way again.
Many children who attend come from communities in the borough where they may not have the opportunity to go to out of school activities that require payment. All of the participants of the sessions live in Elmbridge with the majority of them living in the Walton North area of the borough. In particular, most participants are situated in the St John's, Field Common, and Vicarage Fields estates in Walton, whilst others travel from Longmore in Hersham or West Molesey.
These estates are specifically targeted by KT One Two football as the young people from these areas have limited opportunities to take part in additional physical activities.

These classes provide physical activity and social interaction for young people, helping to keep them off the streets and away from potential involvement in crime.
Some young people who were helping to run the classes had themselves taken part in the sessions when they were younger, so it's great to see that they too had got a lot from this support.'
