The weather will soon be starting to turn and if you've not switched your heating on yet then it's worth testing everything is working before the temperatures really drop. We don't want you to turn your heating on for the first time, only discover it’s not working!
We're asking you to test your heating systems now, and again over the coming weeks, to just check it’s all working properly.
You only need to turn your heating on for 15-20 minutes just to give everything a chance to warm up.
Things to look out for
- Check your boiler is firing up.
- Check your boiler isn’t making any strange noises
- Check that radiators are warming up.
- Check your thermostatic radiator valves are working
- Check that there are no obvious leaks anywhere
- Check your thermostat is functioning and your timers are set.
- If you have electric heating, check it’s switching on and your heaters are getting warm?
