“It’s absolutely wonderful and such an honour to receive this prestigious award in recognition of my hard work over the years, especially during the pandemic"

"But I didn't do it for any award or recognition, I did it to help the people who needed it the most. This is a wonderful surprise."

- Tony Aslam, Local Councillor, Chair of the Resident Assembly, and PA Housing resident

After four decades of volunteering, he was able to supply guidance and support to vulnerable people who needed food and medicines. He was a link between local authorities and people who were unable to leave their homes, promoting safety and social distancing guidelines.

As well as being involved in numerous groups here at PA, which aim to improve things for all residents, he is also involved in several wider community projects to help people with their mental wellbeing.

Alongside volunteers and professionals, he successfully assisted people in their recovery from mental and emotional distress and family or relationship breakdowns.

Huge congratulations to Tony on this recognition.
