Following the first phase report of the Grenfell Tower inquiry
2019 - October, Latest news
The tragic events of 14 June 2017 at Grenfell Tower in west London will never be forgotten by me or anyone else who lives or works in social housing.
72 people lost their lives as a result of that fire and, as the first phase report of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry is published, my thoughts are with the families of those affected.
At PA Housing we are determined to ensure that all lessons are learnt, to ensure we do all we can to keep our residents safe in their homes.
As such, we are closely reading the recommendations of the Inquiry report and are already committed to an improvement programme that is not limited to just our high-rise buildings. This work will be informed by the Inquiry recommendations and we will continue to work closely with local Fire and Rescue Services in all our communities to keep safety at the highest level.
Residents are at the heart of our work and we welcome any resident feedback on our work and how we can improve.
Anyone with concerns about their home or our work, please get in touch. Our Fire Safety Guide may also be of use.
I and PA Housing colleagues will continue to keep residents updated on our fire safety work. We are clear that we will do all we can to ensure this can never happen again.
