KT12 Football success

2018 - November, Latest news

A football project supported by PA Housing has won a prestigious local award.

Based in Elmbridge Borough, the KT12 Football Project aims to teach children and young people life skills through encouraging their football talent, developing them as individuals and team players.

More than 80% of the youngsters involved are from PA Housing schemes and we have supported the project since its inception 4 years ago. It is a really good example of a project where we work successfully in partnership with the local authority, and local charity.

It is run by 2 coaches – Mark and Adam - both of whom are FA qualified. From the start the project was aimed at kids who aren’t able to access more expensive services. They run 3 sessions a week – 1 for younger children, 1 for girls and 1 for older boys.

They are proactively dealing with a number of children from difficult backgrounds and it is a really way for them to let off steam while learning discipline and team work.

The project was named sports club of the year at The Elmbridge Sports Personality of the Year Awards. The ceremony is held to celebrate local sporting talent and honour the local passion for sport the borough demonstrates.

Without your help and continued support we could not have achieved this and so we would like to say thank you. Long may this project continue to be successful!
