Improvements to your home

At PA Housing, we are committed to providing comfortable and well-maintained homes.

We continue to invest in our properties so that they remain in good condition and we have a dedicated stock investment team who are responsible for planning the improvements to your home.

Our stock investment programme for 2019/20 includes:

  • 736 kitchen replacements
  • 524 bathroom replacements
  • 892 window and door replacements
  • 553 central heating boiler replacements
  • 53 roof renewals

How do we decide what to do each year?

We survey our homes every five years to see if we need to carry out improvements in the future. Our surveyor assesses the condition of each room and also checks the external areas of your home – like the roof, windows, kitchen, bathroom and boiler, so the information we hold is up to date.

We also update other information we hold about your property including:

  • Information you pass to us
  • Information passed to us from the Repairs team
  • Information passed to us from your Neighbourhood Coordinator

 

The Stock Investment team uses this information to decide which homes are most in need of improvements.

If your home has yet to have a survey, or it has been a long time since one was carried out, please don’t worry. We complete about 2000 surveys a year and the Stock Investment team will be in touch to arrange yours when we are in your area. If your home has been identified on our programme for improvements this year, we will send you a letter.

In rent arrears?

Our policy says we can’t carry out kitchen and bathroom replacements if you are in rent arrears. If your account is overdue we can help you to get back on track.

How we can help?

Our Income Team can talk you through your options and help set up a payment plan that works for you – taking your circumstances into account. If you’ve set up a payment plan with us, you’ll need to have kept up payments for six months before we can start the improvements.

The best way to start clearing your account is to work with us to find a solution.
