Melissa Lacide

Resident Involvement Officer for the South East

I enjoy working with different people to look at local needs and the chance to share community knowledge, skills and spaces.  I work with residents, pre-schools and charities, community organisations, businesses, and the council with the aim of improving the wellbeing of people and where they live, work, learn and socialise.

I have worked on community led projects, including green spaces and local area forums within Elmbridge, Richmond and Kingston.  Some projects included working with Richmond Council with village plans, Walton Charity and Richmond Aid for green spaces projects; Richmond Healthwatch on health and social care services; and Kingston Hub about social action.  The community allotment with Walton Charity was shortlisted for Excellence in Community Action in the TPAS South Region Awards Final and another green space has been awarded Tesco Bags of Help funding.

I’ve led on various sustainable design projects across the South East and North West.  I’m also a ‘Young Urbanist’ with the Academy of Urbanism and have written articles and think pieces on design for the built environment.
